The flight will be over the North Atlantic for about 30% of the flight. Special overflight, and landing permits will have to be applied for and given for all the African countries, which will be Senegal, Mali, Togo, Nigeria, and Cameroon. Here is the projected route of flight with the distance for each leg in nautical miles. When flying over the ocean certain survival equipment will have to be carried on board the plane. 1. Pilot must wear a survival suit. 2. Life raft. 3. Emergency supplies. Please pray that the weather will be good and that there will be tail winds! The latest that the trip can take place this year will be Oct. 15, after that their will not be sufficient daylight to make some of the longer distances

Sportsman N211PH 40 Hr test flight
Monday Aug. 13th the 40 hour test flight period was completed. The airplane perform beyond Tom and mines expectations. we took the plane out to a small grass strip and gave some rides to family and those who had a part in the building process.
Tom left to fly the plane to Iowa to see his family, and when he returns to Oshkosh we will start making plans for the trip across the Atlantic. We have to have a extra fuel tank fabricated and installed in the right seat so the plane will have enough fuel to make it the 1400 mile trip from St. Johns, NF to the Azores.
Please pray that Tom will be able to get the permission from the military in Cameroon to fly the Glastar that is in Cameroon, and be able to import the Sportsman. Tom is concerned that he may have to go back to Cameroon and talk to the military first before they give him there blessing. that will leave the Sportsman here in the USA, and I have volunteered to fly the 40 hour trip across the Atlantic to Cameroon. Pray for this trip, that we will have good weather and that I will be able to get the time off work if needed.
